Ein tag im leben eines sportografer…

Wir werden oft gefragt wie der Tag eines Sportografen aussieht. Wir haben Alex Mersdorf mit seinem Smartphone losgeschickt, um festzuhalten wie er Fotos von Trailrunnern in den Bergen macht. Ja, wir wissen, dass es kein kompletter Überblick ist, aber Alex war ja auch beschäftigt euch anstatt sich selbst zu fotografieren.

Often we got the question how a day in the life of a Sportografer looks like. We send out Alex Mersdorf with his smartphone to capture his day taking pictures from trail runners in the mountains. Yeah, we know it’s not a complete overview, but Alex was also busy taking pictures of you instead of himself 😉

Und mal wieder ist es viel zu früh um aufzustehen…

Das Gute daran früh Auto zu fahren: Man sieht genau wo es lang geht … Die ersten drei Meter …

The good thing about driving early: you see exactly where you are going… The first 3 meters…

Nachts in den Alpen, es ist kalt beim Laufen, aber noch kälter Stundenlang neben dem Trail zu sitzen. Fürchtet euch nicht vor dem Ninja 🙂

Nights in the Alps, its cold to run, but even colder to sit next to the trail for hours. Don’t be afraid of the Ninja!

Whats in the bag? Verzehnfacht! Keine Airline würde mich mit diesem Gepäck an Board lassen… (3 Kameras, Objektive, 4 Blitze, Stative, Zelt, Schlafsack& Isomatte, Essen und Trinken für zwei Tage, Kleidung für jedes Wetter – falls euch die Details interessieren)

What’s in the bag? Multiplied by 10!! Airlines wouldn’t let me into their cabin with these heavy loads of stuff.. (3 cameras, lenses, 4 flashes, tripods, tent, sleepingbag&mat, food and drink for 2 days, clothes for every weather – if you want the details)

Hmm, wenn es noch wolkiger wird machen meine Fotos keinen Sinn. Aber wie soll ich jetzt den Spot wechseln? Habe ich schon erwähnt, dass es eiskalt ist?!?

Hmm, if it gets more cloudy my pictures make no sense. But how do I get to another spot? Did someone already told you it’s freezing cold?!?

Lässt sich aushalten: Mein Büroplatz für heute. Ich liebe es!

That’s not too bad: my office setup for today. Love it!!

Nur ich und die Aussicht an meinem Arbeitsplatz. Schade, dass der eiskalte Wind es echt ungemütlich macht…

It’s just me, myself and my cool office view. Too bad about the icy wind which made it really hard…

Jetzt heisst es warten bis die ersten Läufer kommen (das könnte noch ein paar Stunden dauern), also etwas Zuflucht vor dem Wind suchen und nochmals die Aussicht genießen (oder etwas schlafen, aber sagt es keinem, ok?)

Now we wait till the first runners arrive (that still might take some hours), so a little shelter to stay out of the wind and enjoy the view at the same time… (Or get some sleep, but don’t tell anyone, ok?)

How long can I stay in one position without moving?

Erstmal nen Kaffee und die Kollegen fragen ob alles in Ordnung ist… Denn die Kollegen kommen immer an erster Stelle… (nach dem Kaffee … 😉 Ich mach nur Spaß )

First a coffee and contact the colleagues if everything is fine… Because colleagues always come first… (after coffee… 😉 Just kidding guys!)
